MerMay
2020

MerMay is an annual drawing challenge in the month of May where artists follow a list of prompts to complete 31 days of mermaids.  This never ending project was started by Tom Bancroft who used to work for Disney.

This was my first time participating in this project and my goal was to give myself an artistic outlet during the uncertain time of 2020, a reason and excuse to draw even on the hard days.  I illustrated a mermaid a day, the day before I would post it, and it allowed me to continually refine my inking skills as well as push me to think of unique ways of portraying the different prompts.  MerMay2020 was the fist project I started after graduating college and also the first project that I finished.
